Trunk or Treat

Our koalas know how to celebrate Halloween in style! Thanks to each class for your decorated vehicle and for all yummy treats at our annual Trunk or Treat event! Check out this video that captures much of the silliness, courtesy of Daniel Erickson (a Kentwood dad!) of Tower 26 Films.

Happy Halloween!

What a fun Friday – our koalas wore their costumes to school today! As our principal said, education is at the forefront of what we do, but on Halloween, we roll with the energy…and the energy was certainly not lacking on this silly day 🙂

Ms. von Schreiber’s First Day

They say it’s good luck to have rain on a wedding day, and we think it’s good luck to have rain on a principal’s first day of school as well. Monday morning started off rainy, but that didn’t get our koalas down – today is the first day with our new principal, Ms. von Schreiber. Welcome to the Kentwood family! 🙂

New Principal

It’s time for a change at Kentwood. Starting on Monday, October 25, our school will have a new principal, Ms. Helene von Schreiber-Morgan. Kentwood families, please check out the email from our Westchester Community of Schools Administrator, Jennifer Theodore-Sullivan, to learn more. We are looking forward to this next chapter!

Kentwood Education Fund (PTO) Meetings

At tonight’s Kentwood Ed Fund meeting, we had two special guests talk with us about what’s going on in the district and what that means for Kentwood. LAUSD School Board Member Nick Melvoin and Chief Advisor and District Director Allison Holdorff from District 4 attended our monthly board meeting. Thanks for the visit!

1st Day

Our koalas are rocking their first day back on Kentwood’s campus. How can you help but have a great first day when you have this much confidence? Go get ’em, koalas!

Welcome to 2021-2022 School Year

It’s the first week of school and our koalas are ready! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for these young scholars academically and we sure do have lots of fun things planned for them outside the classroom. Be on the look out for more information throughout the year about how these kids are #koaLAstrong!
